3 Things I'm Grateful for While Healing Severe Eczema
For the past 8 months, I've been healing my severe eczema through holistic treatments, diet, and lifestyle change. It's been a grueling journey but practicing daily gratitude has been a huge contributor to my success so far.

Hi, it's Cassie and I'm the naturalistic nurse. Practicing gratefulness every day has been so vital to my healing process. And now that I'm about 6 to 8 months in, I wanted to share a few stories about things that I'm grateful for every day.
[00:27-01:47]
And I've never told anybody a lot of these things, but they're very telling about what healing eczema naturally is like and what a lot of people go through going through this process. Also how important it is to be grateful for your own body and your own health and all the hard work that your body does for you every single day. One really big thing for me was being able to go outside in public alone again and for the longest time I wasn't able to do this because the eczema on my face was so severe that I was too embarrassed and too self-conscious to go outside by myself and everything was peeling when you're going through the healing process that's a good thing you want your eczema to come off and shed but it can look and feel really scary i couldn't even go to the grocery store alone i always felt like i needed to bring a friend or bring a housemate or bring my boyfriend with me because i just couldn't face the world by myself And I felt like having somebody there with me humanized me in a way.
[01:47-02:22]
And it showed other people that even though I looked like this and even though I felt this horrible way, I was still a likable person. And when you have 0 self-confidence and you're so embarrassed of the way that you look and you have no control over it, you just feel like you want to be accepted. And sometimes when you're just going through really tough parts of the healing process, it's hard to feel human sometimes.
[02:22-02:45]
Another thing that I'm so grateful for is to be able to turn my neck again. For about the first 3 to 5 months, I wasn't able to move my neck at all because I just had so much eczema on the front, on the sides, on the back, all over it. ......... And I always had these deep cuts that were really hard to heal and it would always ooze and bleed.
[02:45-03:11]
I couldn't sleep because I couldn't move. And it wasn't until about month 3 that I was able to move my neck again, 45 degrees in each way. ......... And even just that little bit of healing made my life a lot easier. I was able to sleep better. I could look over my shoulder a little bit when driving.
[03:12-03:57]
And now I have almost full mobility in my neck and I'm so excited to get there all the way I am very grateful to be able to do housework again which sounds weird but for the longest time I wasn't able to use my hands because the eczema on my wrists and the back of my hands was so severe that I couldn't make I couldn't even make this movement this kind of hurts a little bit still but it's more than I could do 2 months ago And for a long period of time, I wasn't able to engage any muscle in my hands or in my forearms because it would actually put too much strain on my skin.
[03:57-04:31]
I could feel it and it would be painful. And even the weight of one dinner plate was too heavy for me to bear. and I remember the first day that I was able to put the dishes away from the dishwasher again and it just felt like such a huge accomplishment and I couldn't believe how strong my body was to heal enough to get me to that point.
[04:31-04:59]
And now I'm able to do so many things. I'm so much more functioning. I can drive my car. I can open a door. I can put the dishes away. I can take out the trash. And little things like that just feel so great to do. So, as you can tell, a lot of these things seem so basic, but I had never really given them any thought before.
[04:59-05:26]
